Rules for Performing

We do not accept performers who have been paid for stripping, burlesque or drag.   

We’re happy to book pros to start the night and will pay an honorarium. If you are a pro interested in being involved, please send a line.

You will be disqualified from the competition if you end up seeping through the screening process and not respecting our request to keep our event amateur only.   

Amateur performers in Vancouver need and deserve a stage and crowd, and this is one of the few.  

If you are an Amateur performer signing up, these rules are for you:

 • Nudity is not mandatory to enter the competition.

However, anyone performing nude on stage is legally considered an adult performer for the duration of their performance.  If planning on taking off your clothes off, you will need to review and agree to abide by the BC Liquor Laws around adult entertainment listed below.  Anyone breaking the rules could hinder our chances to keep doing the event and could get you disqualified.  

Adult Entertainer Conduct:

 • Entertainers must be at least 19 and must wear appropriate clothing while walking through the audience before and after performances. This clothing may be part of their stage costume; however, the clothing must cover the entertainer’s breasts and genitalia. 

*This means even if you are topless out at the bar which is Aok for this party- you need to have nipples covered leading up to your performance slot.

• Performances must be confined to the stage or other approved areas. 

*No performing is allowed in the audience area. 

• Animals cannot be part of a performance and are not permitted as entertainment.

• Entertainers may consume liquor at the event, but people who perform cannot do so during work hours.

*This means that legally you are not allowed to drink directly leading up to or after your performance.  Ex: don't take a drink your friend has handed you right after you dance and no drinking around the stage area when waiting to perform.

Adult-oriented performers cannot:

• Engage in real or simulated sex acts, or in any acts involving coercion or violence, either simulated or real 

• Insert any object into, or extract any object from, the vagina or anus 

• Urinate or defecate while performing 

• Touch, share food and beverages, or pass objects to members of the audience or to other performers 

• Deliberately engage a patron in an adult-oriented performance or activity 

• Perform while intoxicated

That's the legal side.  

You can place in this competition up to 3 times before graduating and becoming one of our reigning champs. After this, you are still welcome to perform on the stage to open the night off and can receive an honorarium.

Checking In:

Please aim to check in with the host at the stage no later than 10:45pm the night of the event. If there is a lineup, we come out every 10-15 minutes to grab performers and get them into the bar.  Unfortunately, we can not skip your whole entourage.  If you are planning on having your friends come down to support you, please have them arrive early so they can guarantee entry.  

If you are wanting to sign up to perform the night of the event and have missed the submission deadline for online submission, please feel free to take your chances by bringing your song on mp3 player or smart phone to the venue and we will do our best to accommodate you if there are spots still open (usually there is, but busier nights this can be a gamble).  We can only accommodate phones/mp3 players that have a hook-up for a standard aux.  If you have a newer iphone, please show up prepared with the adapter.
